This week on The Wellness Crossing I’m sharing my journey with depression. You know, because it’s just too fun NOT to share. 😉
But really, I am sharing because I know I’m not alone. And though I’ve been seeing strong strides of healing this year, I recently have had this dark cloud of “meh” come on the scene once again.
In the beginning, when depression would come I’d feel shame. Embarassment. My frustration would jump on the karaoke mike in my mind to sing five choruses of WHY CAN’T I JUST FEEL NORMAL?
And all of those feels? They left me in a spiral of fear and doubt that things could ever be better.
Flash forward to this year and I’m grateful for the tools I’ve learned that help me cope with the waves of depression when they come. And honestly, many times reaching for these things change the trajectory of my feelings.
They help me take back the reigns of my day when so often before I’d end up derailed.
So today I’m unpacking three of the tools I reach for in the hopes that they might help someone else out there, too. Or perhaps inspire your own version of self-care practices to help you take better care of yourself, too.
Because you deserve it. And you’re not alone.
